Accessibility Statement

Accessibility Statement - Berkshire Safety Consultants
This statement was last updated on [November 25, 2025].

We at Berkshire Safety Consultants are working to make our site [https://www.berkshiresafetyconsultants.com/] accessible to people with disabilities. Our commitment aligns with our core value of Your Safety & Care, ensuring a secure and usable experience for all users.

What Web Accessibility Is
An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This is achieved through optimising the site's operating capabilities and integration with assistive technologies.

Accessibility Adjustments on This Site
We have adapted this site in accordance with WCAG 2.1 guidelines, and have made the site accessible to the level of AA. This site's contents have been adapted to work with assistive technologies, such as screen readers and keyboard use.
As part of this effort, we have also ensured the following:

  • Language and Structure: Set the language of the site to UK English and defined clear, logical heading structures (H1, H2, H3) on all pages for screen reader compatibility.

  • Visual Contrast: Implemented color combinations (#0e033c on #ffffff) that meet the required WCAG AA color contrast ratios for primary content. (Note: Text placed on the highlight color, #d0e156, uses the dark blue color to maintain compliance.)

  • Navigation: Set the logical content order of the site’s pages to support keyboard-only navigation (Phase 2 UX Deliverable).

  • Imagery: Added descriptive alternative text to all non-decorative images and visual elements to convey information to screen readers.

  • Code Quality: Used the necessary SEO and accessibility tools during development to find and fix potential issues and ensure clean markup.

Declaration of Partial Compliance with the Standard
The accessibility of certain pages on the site may depend on content that is provided by third-party tools, such as the contact form provider or social media embeds. While we choose providers who aim for compliance, we therefore declare partial compliance with the standard for pages where external code operates independently of our control.
The following pages are primarily affected by third-party content:

  • /contact

  • Pages with embedded E-Learning links (Resources/Insights)
